Objective of the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY)

Through the scheme, the state government aims to-

To provide financial assistance monthly to senior citizens, widows, and especially disabled persons. To ensure economic security for vulnerable sections of society by offering a monthly pension. Rs. 500 per month to those between 60 and 79 years old and Rs. 700 per month to those above 80 years old or those with 80% disability.

Who can apply for the MBPY Scheme?

To be eligible for this scheme, the applicant must meet the specific criteria:

The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha. The applicant’s age is 60 years or above. The applicant must be a senior citizen, a widow, a leprosy patient, a disabled person, an unmarried woman belonging to the BPL category, or an AIDS patient. The applicant has a family income from all sources not exceeding Rs. 24,000/- per annum. The beneficiary is not in receipt of any other pension from the union government, the state government, or any organisation aided by either government.

Application Process for Madhu Babu Pension Yojana

Online Process:

Go to the official website ssepd.odisha.gov.in. Then, click on “Madhu Babu Pension Yojana”. Fill out the application form carefully and upload all required documents. After that, submit the application form.

Offline Process:

Go to the Block Development Office (BDO), Municipal Government Office, or Gram Panchayat. Collect the application form from the office. Then, provide accurate information and attach photocopies of the required documents. Hand the duly completed form to the executive officer/BDO to be processed.

Payment Process for the Scheme

The pension amount is credited to the beneficiary’s registered bank account. In rural areas, pensioners can receive payments through the Gram Panchayat office. Payments are made on a fixed date each month to ensure timely financial support.
